Our curry leaf variety was selected from 4 varieties we originally grew, and we now only grow and offer the most fragrant variety that was our preference for best culinary experience. We are a small business and we grow and sell our crop at near cost, providing employment to several local Arizona families. We may not be the cheapest option, but we are the highest quality. While curry powder is a blend of warm, aromatic herbs and spices created by the British, curry leaf is an herb used in Indian cuisine. It comes from a tropical plant called the curry tree, also known as curry plant, that is native to India and Sri Lanka. Curry trees bear fragrant, teardrop-shaped green leaves, which are practically omnipresent in South Indian cooking. Important Details:Our Indian Curry inspected and certified by the USDA only once a week on Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). The shipment sent by USPS priority mail from Phoenix, AZ USA on the same day. Our curry leaf is delivered in full compliance with the law and regulations regarding the restricted interstate movement of Curry Leaf. Curry Leaf harbors an invasive species known as the Asian Citrus Psyllid which is a carrier of the Huanglongbing, citrus greening disease. Our agreement with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires us to wash the leaf that we ship interstate to ensure that our produce is not infected and that we are not spreading this plant disease. Per our agreement with the USDA we wash and have every shipment independently inspected for signs of the insect or the disease. Neither disease nor insect has been found in our crops, as of 2024.Our interstate shipments bear a certificate with a seal of inspection certifying compliance with our agreement with the USDA. Having this certificate is the only legal way to ship Curry Leaf across state lines. Produce shipped with an inspection certification has been inspected in compliance with APHIS regulations regarding the restricted interstate movement of Curry Leaf (Bergera or Murraya Koenigii) by the authoritative federal and/or cooperating state agency. It is not legal to ship Curry Leaf across state lines or quarantined boundaries without an USDA Inspection Stamp and Seal.We only wash our produce with water and organic veggie wash prior to final USDA inspection and sealing. We DO NOT USE BROMINATION OR IRRADIATION to treat out produce.
