(most of the weight is the really big oversize heatsink used in 1500 watt amplifiers) Safety Features::: This amplifier comes with Input Over Drive protection and High Temp shut down protection The input Over Drive Limit is pre set at 38 watts at 52.5 vdc The High Temp protection circuit will disable the PTT circuit until amplifier has cooled down. A whisper quiet 3 inch x 3 inch x 1 inch fan is mounted on top the heatsink. Automatic temp controlled on/off sensor. Two DC power cables entering the back of the amplifier have individual fuses. 1-20 amp and 1-5 amp (see photo of rear of amplifier) The PTT circuit is either RF sense or hard key. I would suggest when in ssb mode or cw you use the hard key option if you can. Once you get this amplifier hooked up it is very easy to use. It has one switch on the front. Amplify / Bypass There are 4 L.E.D.'s across the front panel to monitor the amplifier status (see photo of front panel) Amplify (Green LED) Transmit (Yellow LED) High Temp Fault (Red LED) Over Drive Fault (RED LED) The Over Drive Fault will reset automatically once you reduce your input drive.
