French? Officers Franco Prussian War Era Watercolor Painting Antique 19th C Art

Description: This listing is for am antique ORIGINAL watercolor painting from the franco-prussian war era (19th century, 1800s) depicting a grouping of officers / soldiers in uniform with a grove of trees by a stream in the background. It is framed in a gorgeous solid hardwood frame- which is tiger oak- with a subtle gold painted border. I believe this to be the original frame, or one added shortly after sale. The painting itself may have been done in the field, given its size and style. I am unsure what branch or unit the soldiers may be- but given the iconic pantalon rouge is part of each uniform I would wager they are all officers on the French side rather than Prussian. It is a hand painted work on paper, titled in the lower right hand corner “Ligne - Terre(?) O’ Priver” I believe. It is not visibly signed but I believe there is a signature concealed under the frame or on the back. I have not taken the framing apart to avoid damaging the piece. It is very well painted, especially the delicate shadows on the cloth of the uniforms-an excellent piece of art for your collection, one your friends definitely wont have! It is a great collectors item, for display gifting galleries, and more. It is in good condition, with no major damage. No major fading.
