A little history In 1977 Freightliner Corp. resumed its journey as an independent manufacturer after terminating the collaboration agreement that it had signed with the White Motor Company of Cleveland (Ohio) since 1951. During this period, the company founded by Leland James in 1942 manufactured more of 100,000 units, which were sold under the White Freightliner brand in the commercial and workshop network that its partner had deployed throughout the country and Canada. Thus, the Oregon firm was launching itself after a quarter of a century of doing so with what had been one of the most important American truck builders since before World War II.
