Description: This is a 1924 cancelled check signed by Frederick "Fred" Moore Vinson (1890-1953), an American attorney and politician who served as the thirteenth chief justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1946 until his death in 1953. Vinson was one of the few Americans to have served in all three branches of the U.S. government. Before becoming chief justice, Vinson served as a Congressman from Kentucky from 1924 to 1928, and again from 1930 to 1938. He also served as a federal appellate judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from 1938 to 1943, and as the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury from 1945 to 1946. The check is dated January 26, 1924. The check was for $26.19, and is made out to "Lambert & Queen", a grocery store in Vinson's hometown of Louisa, Kentucky. The signed check comes with a certificate of authenticity from JG Autographs. Shipping is FREE via USPS First Class Mail. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
