The subjects of his work are often the same as another artist, Quincy Tahoma; both men rendered wild animals and horses with great power and strength. Vigil had an excellent ability to capture difficult rearing poses. His work has been widely exhibited, won numerous prizes, and hangs in many museums that include Native American art in their collections.
