Description: 1805 Copper Plate Engraving of the Sturgeon/Mystus, Framed and Double Matted. This Copper Plate Engraving is from the 1805 London Edition by Oliver Goldsmith " A History of The Earth and Animated Nature ". The frame is modern and of good construction with no distracting wear or blemishes. Frame size is 9" x 11" and Gold in color. The Engraving is Double Matted in shades of green, and the approximate size of the engraving is 5 1/4" x 7 1/4", the image size is 3" x 4 1/4". The Engraving has minimal foxing on the margins outside of the image and I would hazard a guess that this is more than acceptable for an engraving of 212 years of age.
