Description: Fox Creek Leather Jacket RARE V1.8 Cafe Racer Style Motorcycle Riding USA Men's Size 48 (46) Unique heirloom-quality men's vented racing jacket, meticulously and proudly crafted in the U.S.A. by Fox Creek Leather.The V1.8 Jacket, so-named for its ultra-thick 1.8 mm. leather is not stiff, as you might assume, but has a buttery-soft, smooth hand feel, with excellent graining. Though no longer made by Fox Creek, (rumor has it they had a hard time consistently sourcing such thick leather that was up to their high standards), this jacket is made all-the-more hard-to-find as it was their top-of-the-line offering (hence, not a best-seller, as it was expensive - would start out at over $600 today). Other Fox Creek jackets and chaps are typically 1.4-1.6 millimeters thick (still considered heavy leather), and even motorcycle racing leathers aren't as robust. This jacket weighs in at a hefty 6 lbs., but is worth its weight in gold if you are able to avoid a skin graft.As expected, the stitching is impeccable in this subtly styled piece of craftsmanship. The cut of the V1.8 is oriented toward sport bike owners (shorter in the front to prevent bunching, and longer in the back for coverage when leaned forward - kinda' like a mullet!), but with that said, would look good mounted atop anything but a moped/scooter (no offense, if that's how you roll). The elegantly clean lines of this jacket would work equally well for a "night out on the town". Adding to the sleek appearance is a perforated leather-lined band collar, a hidden, partially-internal belt adjustment for the waist, and two outer slash pockets with zippers hidden under leather hemming. Each sleeve has a 6" zippered vent under the tricep (also partially hidden) to cool things down, and two 6" zippered vents at the back to allow the air flowing in to exit. Two inside pockets (left w/ a snap, right w/ a zipper) give you additional storage for your EDC gear. The V1.8 has a sewn-in nylon mesh liner throughout the body and arms, with pouches at back, shoulders, and elbows to accommodate body armor (not included). Jacket also comes with a detachable zip-in full sleeve quilted Thinsulate liner for riding in cooler temperatures. Antique Brass YKK hardware throughout. All in all, a very versatile jacket, extremely well thought out and executed.Fox Creek offers a lifetime warranty on their jackets (for ORIGINAL purchaser), but their customer service department has an excellent reputation, should you ever need an alteration or repair.I am only selling this jacket now that I have been able to purchase the exact one just a couple sizes larger.Sizing note: This jacket is labeled as Size 48. By many accounts (and my own experience owning 5 of their jackets) Fox Creek jackets tend to run a bit small. If you typically wear a size 48 AND ARE A SLIM BUILD, this jacket might be an alright fit. My guess is, this would PROBABLY fit you better if you usually wear a Size 46 (maybe even 44?). As a point of reference, I am currently 6'1" and 215 lbs. with a fairly athletic build and a 36" waist. This jacket fits me, but is just a hair more snug than I would prefer. My best guess is, this would fit a guy 5'10" to 6'2" 170-210 pounds w/ a waist less than 38". Also refer to measurements below. With this in mind, I WILL ACCEPT RETURNS on this jacket if it does not fit - provided YOU pay return shipping, and return within a couple days of receipt in same condition as received. Very subtle wear to the black finish on a few leather edges of the jacket (see pencil tip in pictures to pretty much document the extent of it). Slight fading to areas of black dye (most prominent at upper back). Just the right amount of "worn-in" look, without any "worn-out". Clean, nonsmoking home. See all pictures for greater conditional detail. Fox Creek Leather really are some of the nicest motorcycle jackets you can buy. While priced a bit high, they tend to still be a great value with respect to quality, compared to a few comparable brands (especially when picked up on the secondary market!).
