Flowers (also known by his pseudonym Edred Thorsson). It traces the history of the eclipse of Germanic paganism in the early middle ages down to the beginning of the first stirrings of a revival of the Nordic and Germanische spirit in the later middle ages. Volume II would presumably bring us down to the present from there, though I can find no evidence that Flowers ever published that second volume.
