Lens focuses very near - less than 20 cm so can be useful by close up shoots.This is very sharp lens - one the sharpest lens ever made by Carl Zeiss Jena. Last one I offered long ago because they are horrible expensive and it is for me very difficult purchase them. Photographers here love this lens and many of them use it with adapter on their digital cameras!This is the last version of this lens manufactured in end of 80ties. For modern adapters no problem for usability on any other camera. Description: Ser. No. 215861. Stopping limits are 2.4-22. It focuses from 0.20m to infinity. Lens is MC multicoated. Cosmetically is this lens MINT. Slightest just "teoretical" wear both on focusing and stopping rings. Without other marks and scratches of barrel. Top specimen bery nice and fresh looking.With caps but withoutcase. Glass on lens is clean, no fungus, no scratches. Very good glass (micro bubbles are in every Zeiss lens of this age). Focusing and stopping is without problems, I lubricated the lens recently. I degreased blades as well. We are repairing, overhauling, cleaning and lubricating every camera, lens, binocular, microscope ... to restore its original functionality as much as possible. However we are not disassembling it completely and clean every part in ultrasonic cleaner separately if not necessary. If I am not satisfied how something works - considering item age and construction - I will write about it in description. You do not need ask me if it works, we did everything possible to repair it, and I believe for some groups is our repair workshop between the most qualifying in world. Get it working better can only better repairman (or with better replacement part source). However I am not manufacturing them, therefore always read carefully my description about glass, etc. Btw, if you need repair some older mechanical camera, lens, accessory, binocular or microscope you can always ask me.
