On the title page it is stated that this book is a "repertory of social recreations, containing an explanation of the most entertaining games, suited to the family circle and also adapted for social gatherings, phonics and parties." There is some wear along the cloth spine and at the top and bottom of the spine. Despite some surface wear including some scuffing and marks, the cover is still attractive. The book cover is secure, all pages intact and in good shape but some pages have marks, small age stains and aging. One page has some crayon coloring on one of the engravings.
