This is a beautiful fragrant wood that is hard to find. It comes from the Lower Chetco River country near Brookings Oregon.This kind of figure is only found in very old trees. ^ One interesting point about this book match set is that the 3 pieces have not been glued, so that you have choices about the book match. The pics show the wood arranged first one way and then the other. You choose which you like best, and then glue them up. I have used Titebond III with great success on this wood. ^ The panel measures 18 inches wide x 17.5 inches long x 3/8 inch thick, when the pieces are put together. The sides are squared and jointed so that you may arrange it however you wish. ^ So...frame it and put it in a cabinet door or side as a highlight...or use it for a drawer face...or frame it and put it on the wall! ^These panels come fresh from the planer with no finishing. Mineral spirits are used to accentuate the grain for pictures. There may be small chips and imperfections. The finishing is up to you.
