Description: FAVORITE FLIES AND THEIR HISTORIES with Many Replies from Practical Anglers to Inquiries Concerning How, When, and Where to Use Them: 1892 hardcover published by Houghton Mifflin, Boston and New York, 522 pages, illustrated by thirty-two colored plates of flies, six engravings of natural insects, and eight reproductions of photographs. Measures 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 and weighs 3lbs 11oz. I tried my best to show condition in the pictures, which I would say is good for its age of 131 years. The boards are two-tone green cloth with gilt lettering and design on the front board and spine. The boards have some wear around the edges, marks, and a small indent on the front board side edge about 3 inches from the top right corner. The front and back grooves have some separation, but the book is held together with a tight spine. The pages are age toned, but there are no tears or marks. The plates and engravings are all intact. The color plates are bright and beautiful and protected by tissue guards. Please message if there are any questions on condition or if more pictures are desired. Shipping is via USPS Media Mail with insurance.
