Description: The Fano Alt de Facto JM6 is a vintage-inspired electric guitar that combines the best features of classic models with modern craftsmanship and custom pickups. Each JM6 is hand-built by one builder in Scottsdale, AZ, using premium tone woods and aged hardware. This one was part of a batch spec'ed out together by the heads of Truetone and Fano, collaborating to create guitars that hadn't been done before. It's a JM6 with dual Suhr humbuckers and a special Korina body, making it a one of a kind instrument. Light and quick, this curvy beauty is made to respond to the touch. Get as rough or smooth as you like, the contoured neck are built for comfort as well as speed. The JM6 incorporates a 25.5" scale length, compound radius (9.5 - 12.0"), and an early-60’s C Shape neck that feels comfortable and familiar in your hands. A unique feature of this guitar is that it has a Korina (as known as White Limba) body, which is rarely seen on a Fano. It's actually rarely seen on guitars in general, but has been a fan favorite for years since seen on Explorers and Flying V's back in the day. Harvested in West Africa, this exotic wood has a distinctive grain that really stands out. To further accentuate this, we went for a transparent Amber Burst finish, which Fano nailed. The result is beautiful. For a hardwood, Korina is rather light - this guitar comes in at just 7.5 lbs. It's not just about looks though - the tone is why we chose it. Korina has a very warm, balanced sound with excellent sustain. We chose the Medium Distress package, and Fano knocked it out of the park. No surprise there - they always do. But this one is especially well done. The wear is realistic, in the right places, and gives the guitar a great vintage look and feel. We knew it would be cool but didn't realize how cool until it arrived! We went for a new twist on this JM6, choosing to do it with Suhr Thornbucker pickups. This was the suggestion of Fano's Graham Dowling. Born out of a desire to give guitarists a humbucking pickup set that has all of the best attributes of the coveted 50’s “patent applied for” style pickups, with none of the downsides, and the inclusion of a few modern touches: four conductor wiring, a variety of spacings, along with the consistency and quality that Suhr is known for. Balance, clarity and warmth - that's what these pickups are all about. For the bridge position, this guitar has the new Thornbucker + (Plus), which adds more power and oomph. This is perfect for players that like a slightly overwound PAF-type tone. Other features include a push/pull knob for coil tapping, a TonePros bridge, and nickel dome knobs to add to the vintage look. As an added bonus, this guitar comes in a custom G&G hardshell case. Any Fano Alt de Facto is special, but this JM6 really is something else. There isn't another one like it out there. Come to Truetone Music to give it a try, or order right here right now before it's gone!
