Description: This listing is for; The Exact Item In Pictures! Please look at the pictures as they are part of descriptions!!! It is a wall lamp that has a conventional socket and takes a regular lightbulb. (Pictured with a spiral fluorescent light bulb) This piece was made by Connie Pampinell - a metro Detroit body casting artist. She was Very Active in the 1990’s & early 2000’s working within the ‘Alternative Culture’ producing nude body castings as well as face & body parts castings. She was Very Prolific selling her pieces to individuals, Corporations and businesses! I am the original owner of this piece and purchased it (along with two other pieces) directly from Connie at a gallery Art Opening (at a facility called London Calling) that she had of her artwork in around 1997 -1998 where she described the basic techniques and process of its production etc.. The models for her body/face/castings were also present at the opening. I am selling it because I am downsizing and want someone else to enjoy it. It has hung on my wall since it was originally purchased. I am not an expert in artwork and I am describing this piece and its construction as best as possible and from memory of what the artist shared with me when it was purchased. (see pictures for visual inspection. Condition and etc) (ask any questions prior to purchase and I will do my best to answer) This piece is Extremely Unique. (read below) And is in the same condition as when it was purchased! This Artwork is an Original FACE CASTING Sculpture/Wall Lamp. It was produced using a Live Model in the “Death Mask” Techniques. A mold was made of the Model’s Face and then the casting material (probably a plaster of Paris) poured in to form the delicate face - rusted steel “found” pieces were added to the backing surface along with a paper type material that forms a background around the face (like a laurel). The light shadows formed behind the sculpture creates a “star shaped” glow on the wall surface. (See pictures) This is a fairly “delicate” piece. Packing & Shipping will be based on “FRAGILE” contents! MEASUREMENTS are approximately - 10 inches high - 9 inches across - 5 inches (nose tip to back) deep. The face is of an actual young woman’s face - with added embellishments added. NOTE - (difficult to describe) (see pictures) . NOTE - bottom (under neck) has small ‘nick’ on surface. I don’t know if it was there when I purchased it or how or when it occurred BUT was most likely there when originally purchased. However, when it’s hung up it is really never noticed - it is well underneath the chin AND When it’s Hanging You Cannot See It Unless You Look Under It. I only noticed it, after all these years, when I took it off the wall to list it. This artwork is fashioned to be a Wall Hanging Lamp - the wall mounting wire is permanently formed into the casting (see pictures). This has been described as “Like a Death Mask”.
