Description: The Constitution of Liberty FIRST EDITION, THIRD PRINTING By F.A. Hayek [Friedrich A. Hayek] 1961 Hardcover with Dust Jacket This is an uncommon 1961 first edition, third printing of what is often regarded as F.A. Hayek’s best work, The Constitution of Liberty (which was first published the year prior, in 1960, making this a very early printing). This book is in very good or very good- condition but for a spot of glue residue on the front pastedown where it appears that a bookplate was attached (see the last photo), some very neat ruled underlining to the introduction, the preface, chapters 1, 3, 11, 24, and the postscript (see photos for representative examples of this limited underlining along with a small margin note or two to these portions of the book), a formerly dogeared page (p. 401), and some toning that is most noticeable when viewing the edges of the page block (see photos). The book is squarely and tightly bound. Please see photographs as to condition. The dust jacket — which is NOT price clipped — likewise is in very good condition but for some small tears, chips, creases and rubs. Please see photos as to condition. The color is nice and unfaded. The dust jacket is now protected in a removable archival mylar jacket cover. This collectible book is not price clipped, not ex-library, not remaindered, and not a book club edition. It will be shipped bubble wrapped in a box.
