On March 1, 1941, Adolf Hitler and Bulgarian King Boris III signed a treaty for the Kingdom of Bulgaria to join the Axis forces, known as the Tripartite Pact, and Bulgaria became an ally of Nazi Germany and Italy. Following the signing of the treaty, Germany deployed its troops on Bulgarian territory and took control of the country, preparing for an attack on Greece. In response to these actions, in the spring of 1941, the Western Allies, the USA and the UK, conducted a series of air bombings on strategic targets in Bulgaria, destroying communication infrastructure, industrial plants, railway and transport hubs, airports, military facilities, and bases. Germany did not anticipate such a rapid reaction from the enemy and was not equipped with air raid sirens. Therefore, immediately after the first air bombings, Germany produced a limited quantity of this type of sirens for air raid warnings over Bulgaria, and these sirens were used only on Bulgarian territory during the air bombings from 1941 to 1944. That's why this type of sirens is truly extremely rare German sirens from the Second World War, and it is very difficult to find them in good condition, fully functional, and without missing parts. I am the owner of the largest collection of this type of WW2 sirens. I inherited this collection from my father in 2013, who collected WW2 German military sirens and other vintage and antique items for over 20 years. I have decided to list some items, from which I have a few pieces in the same color. It is very hard to find this type of siren in its original condition without missing parts and in full working order. If you do some research, you will see that only I have sirens of this type in perfectly preserved condition to the extent possible. I hope these historical pieces will find their way into the hands of collectors who will appreciate their true historical value. These sirens are extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors because the Germans produced a limited quantity that was used by the German army only on Bulgarian territory from 1941 to 1944. You cannot find the same type of siren anywhere else in the world. The siren is functional with a very loud sound. This air siren is from WW2, and it is possible that there may be some noise from the original bearings, so don't expect it to work like a new one. It shows signs of aging, as expected from an original WW2 item, but it is still very well preserved! The siren was tested 30 miles outside of town to avoid causing panic among the people. The real sound of the siren is indeed very powerful. Dear customer, you will receive exactly the same item you see in the pictures, not a similar or different one. Please review all the photos, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask before bidding! Note: There may be a slight color discrepancy between the photos and the actual color of the item.
