Description: Beautiful coin silver fiddleback tablespoon with an interesting history! One might notice the English hallmarks on the back, but this obviously English! This spoon dates to about 1848-1858 and was made by James Pooley in New Albany, IN. He was a silversmith and fine goods merchant at the time and was in business until 1858 before he sold his store in New Albany and moved to Nashville, TN. Wonderful piece of very rare American silver with a good story. Excellent condition overall, only usual wear on the bowl and spots with minor tarnish. Marks are extremely clear and legible. Not sure what to price something like this, so if you see another online thats sold, I'll do my best to match it. Dimensions: 6" long, 16.4g
