Description: English Sterling Silver Rattail Dog Nose End Table Serving Spoon Hallmarked William Scarlett c 1700 Presented is a fantastic sterling silver rattail table or serving spoon with an up-turned Dog nose handle end. It is hallmarked with stretched marks on the handle indicative for early silver made in London with a date mark of what I believe to be an O and a makers mark of SC for silver by William Scarlet known to have been working c1700. I have posted pictures of my research in the photos above. This elegant piece has only some pin-prick dings, some tip ware, no monogram, some nicks around the edge of the bowl and some light scratches from gentle use and care. It is an excellent piece for the collector of fine antique silver.
