Description: Endre Komaromi-Kacz (1880-1969) Hungarian Winter Landscape Windmill Oil on Board Up for sale is vintage c.1930's original oil on board (thick card) painting by Hungarian artist Endre Komaromi-Kacz (1880-1969). This highly atmospheric winter night landscape with windmill is very well executed employing a sophisticated knowledge of light, color and perspective. The painting itself is measuring about 13” (34 cm) by 19” (49 cm), and the frame is measuring 15” (39 cm) by 21” (54 cm). The painting is signed by the artist in the lower right corner. This painting would be a very sound investment and a great addition to any collection. Endre Komaromi-Kacz (1880-1969) Endre Komáromi-Kacz Endre began his art studies in Budapest, then continued in Munich and Nagybánya. His teachers were: Ede Balló, Simon Hollósy. Between 1903-1907 he studied at the Benczúr master's school. He went on a longer study trip with a state scholarship in the Netherlands and Belgium. He worked in Budapest, and in the last years of his life he painted the Balaton landscape in Balatonalmádi. From the 1910's he was one of the permanent exhibitors of the Art Gallery and the National Salon, and won numerous awards. He had a collective exhibition in 1918 in the National Salon, in 1924 in the Art Gallery. Several of his works can be found in the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery.
