Description: On offer, we have a restrike etching by American western artist Edward Borein. Borein (1872-1945) was an award winning artist famous for his depictions of Spanish Colonial California, The Old West, and Mexico. He was a much loved resident of Santa Barbara, Ca.. "The Gossips Chinle, Arizona" shows a conversation with a beautiful Arizona background. On thin white paper, this measures approximately 9" X 12" with the image 6 3/4" X 9 5/8". The etching is in dark brown/black ink printed on light beige background. My understanding is that a restrike is from the original plate, but not from the first printings. This print in pristine condition. We do not know who printed this. The etching is clear and clean. It has been handled and has a few light wrinkles. As I am not an expert on art, please view my photographs for more description. My elegant friend is moving to a much smaller home and parting with some of her treasures.
