Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a William Edenborn patent, dated March 17, 1885. This wire is called "Edenborn's Locked In Two Point Flattened Barbs All Galvanized" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 298-B). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are two pointed made from a single flattened round barbing wire. Barb is wrapped around one line and then both lines. All barbs and lines show galvanizing. Wire sample shows very light pitting. There are six barbs. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. There is some light bending of barbing points. There are no broken, or missing barbing points.
