It is not necessary to use steel or vanadium steel socket on plastic or aluminum filter housing. We designed it specifically for this purpose using hand tools (not intended for use with power tools) as described above. CZ has designed and build hand held wrenches that are made from aluminum and are used in production environment with great success. However if you believe that you will need this wrench for other applications then it is designed for, you might need steel or vanadium steel wrench that others are selling.
