Description: Early H. Hargrove 1983 Hand Embellished Serigraph to OSU Tulsa President.This appears to be a commissioned piece dated 2/8/83. I say that it was a commissioned piece, because Mr. Hargrove wrote Gary Trennepohl, and a few other names on the back (it's hard to see in the pics). Gary Trennepohl became President of USU Tulsa in 1999, so I'm guessing that this piece was commissioned for him and his staff 16 years earlier. It is an early serigraph that Mr. Hargrove also hand embellished (1982 is his earliest serigraphs). Most people can't tell the difference, and they label serigraphs as original paintings, which they are not. This piece has "151 / Pecan" and "109" written in pencil on the back, so it may have been one of these numbers in the run, but I can't be certain. This particular piece isn't listed on the "Hargrove Paintings" website. It does have a certification as an oil medium, but again, that doesn't mean painting.It is however a beautiful piece and it has good provenance. Canvas size 12" x 18" and comes framed.
