Description: This is a rare April 27th, 1903 program (playbill) from the one-week, Post-Broadway engagement of Mr. E. S. WILLARD and his Company in repertory at the Star Theatre in Buffalo, New York. On Saturday afternoon, May 2nd, 1903, the company presented the T. W. ROBERTSON play "DAVID GARRICK" preceded by the Comedietta "A SILENT WOMAN". On Saturday evening, May 2nd, 1903, the company presented the J. J. DILLEY and L. CLIFTON play "TOM PINCH" based on characters in CHARLES DICKENS' "Martin Chuzzelwit". (The Original Broadway production of "David Garrick" opened August 16th, 1869 at the Theatre Comique in New York City. This revival opened December 2nd, 1902 at New York's Garden Theatre. The Original Broadway production of "Tom Pinch" opened December 31st, 1900 at New York's Garden Theatre.) ..... "DAVID GARRICK" starred EDWARD SMITH WILLARD in the title role and featured Mr. H. CONDITION: (Please Note!) The program has an uneven trim, a heavy vertical fold, light soiling to the back cover and moderate edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare program will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
