The Story: Stefan (Julian Sands) finds that he can no longer tolerate the "arrangement" with his beautiful wife Alina (Joanna Pacula). As her husband, he gets her during the week and her lover (Tchéky Karyo) gets her on the weekends. At the same time the wife finds herself increasingly drawn to the violence of her lover versus the slavish adoration of her husband. Comments: Not exactly your typical love triangle. At some time previous, Stefan and his free spirited wife Alina have agreed to accept extramarital adventures on each other's parts and share their details afterwards. Alina is now seeing a particular lover for two days out of every week. For Stefan, however, this game is becoming painful. Alina is growing increasingly eager to please her lover and she is fascinated with his violent behavior. For a low budget film, this production features beautiful photography and a stunning cast. The interesting story, based on a thoughtful novel by Alberto Moravia, has more than a few twists and kinks. Plus there is a great musical score from Academy Award winning composer Ennio Morricone. Per the label, the film has 95 minute running time; English audio with no subtitles. This movie-on-demand MOD archive title on recorded media is new and factory sealed. The DVD disc is Region 1, NTSC format, specifically designed to play on DVD players in North America. It will probably not play on a PlayStation or similar game device.
