Hoofjack IS NOT included, this listing is only selling what is pictured; the draft post attachment. Post diameter will fit into a medium or standard sized Hoofjack. If placed in a medium base the post will hit the ground when lowered all the way before the cap hits the top of the Hoofjack; this allows the medium hoofjack to go taller in height. For a medium hoofjack if you want the post to go all the way down to the top of the medium hoofjack base you would need to cut it to fit. The draft post is also ideal for those who use the hoofjack on barefoot horses because the wider rubber cap offers more stability to hold the hoof from rotating. the larger cap is typically not used on non draft horses that have shoes because it may interfere with the tools that work on shoes when used on smaller hooves. I personally prefer the draft cap size when I'm trimming my own barefoot quarter horses because i feel it holds the toe up better when I'm rasping the outside walls and the hoof doesn't move off the post cap as easy when I put pressure on the toe.
