Description: You want Ultra Rare and Affordable? I have it. BLUE LABEL Detective Comics #39 (1940). The 14th appearance of “The Batman” and only his 9th Cover Appearance! Also, the second appearance of Robin! CGC graded. Brittle, incomplete, (pages 1-6 missing). Moderate cover tape and only a minor amount of color touch on cover. The book presents exceptionally well. That nice early “black mask” Batman that’s so highly desired. This is the last affordable early Detective Comics within his first 10 covers. Also note the “big ears” Classic Batman in the upper left corner. This changes a few issues later to the more modern looking Batman of the mid 1940’s - 60’s. I’m pretty firm on price. I’ve seen copies on here from $7500 to $40,000+ over the years. This is the most affordable example (looking as nice as it does) that you’re going to find. Do not lowball offers. I’m just as happy to keep it or let Heritage auction it.
