Dept 56 Cathedral Church of St Mark Christmas In The City 2305 Production Halt!

Description: Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Minneapolis, Minnesota is one of two cathedrals in the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota. The Department 56 "Cathedral Church of St. Mark" was plagued by production issues, primarily concerning the uneven alignment of its towers, leading to a significantly limited production run of only 3,024 pieces instead of the originally planned 17,500 due to quality control concerns; many pieces were rejected during firing because the towers sagged or leaned too much, causing production to be halted. ® Key points about the production issues: Tower alignment: The main problem was that the crenellated towers on many pieces were not perfectly parallel, causing them to appear uneven or leaning. Firing process: These issues arose during the firing stage of production, where the ceramic pieces were heated to set their shape. Limited edition: As a result of the quality control issues, the "Cathedral Church of St. Mark" became a very limited edition piece with only a fraction of the originally intended number produced. This church is in good vintage condition. I only see a slight discoloration on the roofline which was likely intentional in the production process. I do not see any chips or cracks. Please view pictures carefully as they are part of the description. As I was taking photos there was Styrofoam stuck to church, which I kept trying to brush off, so any little white flecks are likely Styrofoam. The church comes in its original box and Styrofoam and the box is a little beat up. Also has its original cord with an off switch and a brand new light bulb that I am including.
