The Denon DL-103S needs no introduction as the high compliance, high frequency response version of the legendary workhorse moving coil cartridge, the DL-103 that was developed in house by Tokyo radio station NHK for use in their broadcast rooms. Demand for the 103 became so high that it was released to the public as a consumer item in 1970 where it has been a reliable, loved and revered fixture and mainstay ever since. Once high compliance cartridges came into style, the DL-103S was developed to fill demand. Cartridge has been retipped with a NUDE rectangular shank low mass, high polish, gem grade grain-oriented true ellipsoid Ogura Viral PE (8/18 micron elliptical diamond and upgrade lightweight, thin-wall, hardened, tapered aluminum-magnesium alloy cantilever. Guaranteed to be as good or better than original quality. The DL-103S was an elliptical stylus version of the DL-103, with changes in the moving structure to lighten it, a higher compliance, and with a lower tracking weight (1.8g±0.3).
