Description: Description: This is an excellent general guidebook to Jewish observance covering Kosher food, prayers, the Sabbath & Holiday observance, and Jewish basic beliefs. There are others things included too and can be learned from the photos of the table of contents. This is a compilation of all the approprate laws in the 3 categories that Rabbi Abramowitz felt necessary to focus on for Jews living in the U.S.A. in 1890. He was Rabbi of Congregation Mishkan Israel Anshei Jeshurin Suvalk in New York at the time. He blended the laws primarily from the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch (of Ganzfried b. 1804), The Chayeh Adam (of Danziger b. 1748) & The Shulchan Aruch ( of Karo b. 1488). He originally wrote the book in Hebrew, this is a translation by Samuel David Aaranson. An approbation of Rabbi Shmuel Salant of Israel because Abramowitz was his student. He was born in 1860 in Vabalninkas, Lithuania, maybe he knew Rav Shach. Condition: Complete 912 pages, no writing in interior except for an inscription, first blank pge. Covers rubbed at edges.
