Description: Antique Danish First Model 1867 Remington Bayonet measuring 26.5" overall with a blade length of 21.5". Blade is very good showing some scattered age patina with much original finish. Guard, pommel, chape and locket on scabbard shows some light age patina, rust. Excellent working press stud, this has the early internal spring locking mechanism that is on the First Model. Has the early Weyerburg Solingen markings in an oval., the guard is stamped 133323 with the other side showing Regimental markings of "22B.298". Leather on scabbard has shrunk and does not fit all the way on the bayonet, about one inch sticking out. The stitching on the back has also come undone, but does not fully open up with the chape and locket on each end. This saber type of Bayonet was made for the first Danish Rolling block rifle produced by Remington and is a well made piece. See our other Items at TR-West!
