These knives have been used for about a year and are in excellent condition. They could use a good sharpening, however, which brings up another great service from Cutco; Forever Free Sharpening - local rep, or mail-in (mail in is the best - all you pay is shipping). To note: there's space for 10 knives in Cutco's new light gray trays, and space for 9 in the original brown trays. The light gray ones are brand new and unused. The original brown trays are 60-70 years old and have certainly been used, but are still in good enough condition to use. Due to their age, however, they'll be more prone to crack/break than the new ones. Knives will be sent with the new trays unless otherwise requested. They're dishwasher safe, but I always wash by hand.
