Description: Large Creepy Handmade Dollhouse Diorama Room BoxA great Halloween prop! An aged and somewhat battered (19" x 12") antique farm crate was used for the room box, furnished as an old, abandoned attic, and it includes 2 antique white "ghost" bisque & cloth dollhouse dollsThe gold metal-framed hanging picture is actually an antique Daguerreotype? photo & frame, and the stack of newspapers was made from vintage & antique newspaper strips--one shows the date of 1901; the little rug is pretty old, too, and the rest of the accessories are vintage, except the books, which are a little newer than the rest of the stuffThis room box scene was inspired by the creepy-look the dolls have (the boy is holding a pair of scissors), the decrepit state of the crate, and the wooden wardrobe cabinet that is shabby and has one door hanging loose from its hinges. The clothing (an old raggedy dress and tattered shawl), shoes, hats and the "blankets" are odds & ends/scraps from misc. doll supplies & collections; the clock, small crate, books, mangy-looking cat, wall picture in the closet, tiny mouse, barrel w/vase, etc., plus the repaired wooden chair, are all old dollhouse pieces, as is the wardrobeThe dolls' clothing is sewn on, so I can't see if there are any markings--they are likely German-made or from Japan; they have bisque heads and lower limbs--much like German china head dolls, and they both measure approx. 5" tallIf you like dark, Gothic type displays and haunted dollhouse themes, then you will probably like this one; the crate shows much age wear and at some point somebody added a reinforcing strip to the back; it's still sturdy enough for this display purpose and free-stands fine; the dolls and accessories all show age as well--they were intentionally selected for this project because of their timeworn appearanceNone of the pieces are attached, so that you can re-arrange everything any way you like and put your own decor spin on it; the hanging picture hangs from a small attached brad-nail and when I packed everything up, I put the box of smaller accessories inside the crate where the little nail is (forgetting about the nail--my apologies!), and the box is packed up and sealed now and ready to go, so the buyer may have to search the packing materials to see if the nail came out and possibly fell through the back wood slats or is rattling around in the crate, or they could just add a tiny nail themselves or use double-sided tape to hang the picture--it's fairly light-weightThe buyer could add faux-spider webbing to give it an even creepier look if they wanted, and could add little spooky accessories of their own...Handmade, one-of-a-kind spooky room box / dollhouse/dioramaShips quickly and securely, very carefully packed; this item is heavy and requires a larger box; it will ship either USPS Ground Advantage or Fed Ex Ground, depending on the buyer's zip codeThanks for viewing!
