Very Nice Craig Martell Signed Orcas Island Washington Art Pottery Vase. This special pottery vase was one of a limited amount that was purchased from the Michael Parsons Fine Art Gallery in Portland Oregon. This features an abstract flower design in pink and blue. It is wheel thrown with rings and a sponged pink glaze. The base is unglazed and signed by the artist. For more information See pictures #10, #11, & #12. Craig Martell of Salem, Oregon has been a studio potter for over 30 years. His work reflects a great understanding of color and texture achieved from years of experimentation with firing and glazing. His functional work, ceremonial in form, is elegant and sensuous. Flashes of pinks and blues are balanced with mellow, soft browns that are emphasized with subtle surface texture. He has exhibited and sold his work across the country and has been included in private and museum collections throughout the United States and Japan. Michael Parsons 1957 to 2022 This special pottery Vase was one of a limited amount that was purchased from the Michael Parsons Fine Art Gallery in Portland Oregon. He established Michael Parsons Fine Art in Park Blocks. Michael became a leading expert on Northwest fine art and organized many shows featuring Northwest artists at his gallery, area colleges, and other venues. He dedicated his life to bringing classical music and fine art into people's lives because he believed that music and art provide a compass to better understand and interpret our complex world.
