Description: Full sized Courbette headstall. It is dark brown when looking at it closely, but I believe it was originally dyed black, and still appears black from a distance. From end of cheek piece to end of cheek piece it is 31 1/2 inches. The crown (space between slits) is 14 1/2 inches. The throatlatch measures 25 inches on the long side. The total length of the throat latch, measured from the buckle, over the crown, and to the other side is 49 inches. The cheeks are 5/8 inches wide. The crown is 1 1/8 inches wide. There is a surface crack near the split on the throat latch. The throat latch buckle has some slight surface rust. The piece is still functional and usable.
