Description: Measures approximately 16 1/2 inches tall and 7 1/8 inches wide from edge of spout to edge of handle. Handmade copper tankard or flagon made during the Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) movement in Germany. Decoration appears to be hand engraved and hammered. Central shield is engraved: Fur Hochzeitsfeier vom Koch-Verein Stuttgart 4 Sept. 1906The Kock-Verein is a professional cooking association established in 1890 and is still active today with around 200 professional chefs from the greater Stuttgart, Germany area. This piece appears to have been gifted by the cooking club and/or possibly used during a wedding reception (hochzeitsfeier) held on September 4, 1906. Surface wear and tarnish as seen in pictures.
