Description: This is a spool of OFHC copper foil that is about 400 feet long. The foil measures 0.005” thick by ¼” wide. “Soft” is marked on the spool, which probably refers to a soft annealed temper. It was used by my father in his vacuum business. Oxygen-free high thermal conductivity (OFHC) copper is a group of wrought high-conductivity copper alloys that have been electrolytically refined to reduce the level of oxygen to 0.001% or below. The usual purity is 99.9% copper. The characteristics of an OFHC material are high ductility, high electrical and thermal conductivity, high impact strength, good creep resistance, ease of welding, and low relative volatility under high vacuum. The cardboard spool and copper foil weighs 1 pound, 15 ounces. There is no certificate of analysis with this material. Sold “as pictured/as seen”. See the photos and judge the condition for yourself.
