Description: Offered for sale is a used complete original Coleman Model 160 Kero-Lite mantle lamp. An early issue of the Coleman Light collector's newsletter states that Coleman made less than 5,000 of these lamps just before and during WWII. They were offered for sale from the Fall of 1939 to 1944. This is the only kerosene mantle lamp that Coleman ever produced, and parts are extremely hard to find. This was found stored in a "hoarder house" and probably didn't see much use as the wick looks nearly new and the plated parts are still nice and shiny. The glass base shows some light staining in the paint, but there are no chips in the glass edges. The only issue is the fill cap has small dimple dents. The wick adjuster works smoothly as it should to raise and lower the wick. I will include a copy of the original manual and suggest you follow instructions regarding installing and trimming a new wick if you want to light this lamp. You will also need a correct mantle. Imperial Lighting has carried reproduction mantles for this lamp but when I checked this morning they are out of stock. They are an Aladdin type mantle and there is a national shortage of Aladdin mantles, but some should likely be available soon. This is an original chimney with the Coleman sunrise logo and the Pyrex glass circle below, near the rim. Originally these markings were printed in blue but have faded to looking more clear or white. I have seen some reproduction chimneys with the Coleman sunrise logo, but reproductions do not have the Pyrex mark. It stands 14" tall. There are no chips, cracks or burn marks in the glass.
