Ziggy was not "collected", put in plastic coffins or behind glass doors, like TY Beanies :-) He was given for holidays by "mom & dad", "grandma & grandpa" w/ love..., and sat on beds and dressers. He wasn't exactly "played" with but was a bedroom decoration. Tags were nearly 100% written "in & on" as gift "to & froms". Today they may be creased, mangled, chewed on, or for the most part simply MIA ;-). I really don't believe an MIA tag is a problem except for the true collectors. "New" Ziggys would be extremely rare. Today Ziggy is a reach back over decades to fond, warm memories from the 80's & 90's. "Someone else's" tag may not work for you, but I'm sending with the cardboard tags if he has one.
