Description: China Chinese Group of 16 Blanc De Chine Lohans by Zeng ShanDong (1926-1998) who was born in a family of ceramic sculptures in Jingdezhen. In 1961, he was awarded the title of "Ceramic Artist" in Jingdezhen. His father, Zeng Longsheng, was a famous porcelain sculptor in Jingdezhen and the founder of "Ceramic Zeng". Zeng Shandong was deaf and mute due to illness since childhood. He studied with his father at the age of 8, and began to create porcelain sculptures at the age of 14. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he has been engaged in ceramic sculpture creation in Jingdezhen Sculpture and Porcelain Factory for a long time. He is good at creating magnificent large-scale group sculptures. His representative works include "Eight Immortals and Eight Beasts", "Great Victory", "Monkey King Fighting the Gods", "Twelve Flowers" God", "Girl in the Veil", etc. Father, Zeng LongSheng (1901-1964) was a celebrated potter at the Jingdezhen who specialized in figural sculptures. A completer set of his 18 Lohans are displayed at the University of Museum and Art Gallery, University of Hong Kong. Additional Pictures are available upon request. The largest Lohan measures 20 1/2" and the smallest Lohans 11 5/8", some of the Lohans have cracks, repairs, fire flaws and looses as you can see in the images. 16 Lohans will be shipped in 3-4 boxes, can also be delivered to neighboring states to NY/NJ with calculated fees.
