Description: A superb reticulated cerussite specimen with a bit of matrix on the back from Tsumeb. This is a dramatic esthetic specimen. Cerussite is lead carbonate, and the cerussite crystals are gemmy, lustrous, colorless to white, and sheet-like blades like bridge girders. There is very little damage to this very fine specimen - much less than typical with such fragile crystals. It was likely mined in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Tsumeb is a classic locality and is now closed without any chance of producing such beautiful examples as this specimen. Dimensions are 8.8x5.4x4.0cm - 3½x2x1½in. Please note the centimeter cube and inch bar for scale. Weight in grams and ounces: 363.2g - 12.81oz. From the Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia. The previous collection this specimen was in is #502, Franklin Mineral Museum with an attached tag that reads 1667. #502 is the museum's Collection Sale number previously offered in the museum shop. >>> We do COMBINED SHIPPING for multiple items.
