THE PREVIOUS OWNER PROVIDED THE INFORMATION BELOW: c1775 Antique Print by Florence Artist Giuseppe Zocchi Giovanni Battista Cecchi The print is a copperplate engraving printed in colors with additional hand-coloring, printed on laid paper circa 1775. The sheet measures 17 1/2 X 13 3/4 inches and is in fair condition due to being trimmed on the edges; stains across the bottom; age toning; foxing spots; a 1" tear on the top edge; a 1 1/2" tear on the bottom edge; and a small diagonal tear on the bottom edge. The image is titled : "Fan strage i cacciator d'augelli e fere. Ottobre." It is inscribed under the image: "G. Zocchi dis. G. B. Cecchi inc." [These are the names of the artist, Giuseppe Zocchi, and the engraver, Giovanni Battista Cecchi.] It is inscribed in the lower right corner : "In Firenze appo. Guis. Bardi." There is nothing printed on the reverse side. Giuseppe Zocchi (c. 1711–1767) was an Italian painter and printmaker, active in Florence, and best known for his vedute of the city. Giovanni Battista Cecchi (b. Florence, 1748-1749 - d. Florence, after 1815) was an Italian engraver. This is an antique print guaranteed to be over 200 years old.
