Casco Bay, Maine Cove with Buoys Vintage Oil Painting

Description: this is a beautiful oil on canvas painting done by Maine artist Linda Bail of an inlet off of Casco Bay in Maine - it appears from the foliage that the season was late summer or early fall when the artist was doing a canoe trip in the area - the painting depicts the essence of tranquility & peace as the viewer looks upon the very still waters of this inlet of Casco Bay at a rare time when the wind was not blowing across the waters - the very talented & well-schooled artist does a masterful job in creating the many reflections of the myriad pine trees & boulders that are present on every point of land that juts out into the waters of the inlet - the artist used a varied palette of subdued & muted green, gray, silver, blue & yellow colors to depict the tranquil water of the inlet & its reflections of the natural elements surrounding it - note that for the gray boulders & green pine trees which are seen in the mid-foreground, the artist worked more with a realistic style to create a closeness of these natural elements to the viewer - to create a sense of distance & space in the background by the entrance of the inlet, she used a more impressionistic style to depict the pine trees & boulders which were much further away from the artist & viewer - the painting is a generous 18" x 24" sight size, & is in very good condition as it its original gilded wooden frame which measures 21" x 27" - painting can be picked up at my home in Swanzey,NH -
