Description: By popular demand, a cartridge box specifically for the western Federal soldier! These M1861 boxes have the bells and whistles and the stamp of the Moores and Company of Cincinnati Ohio, which produced cartridge boxes in the west, used by troops from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and others in the west. The lunette flap is stamped Moores & Co. Cin-O. Unlike other M1861 boxes with pointed or acorn finials, these have a round finial. The sling loops are more straight than slanted as on other M1861 boxes. As with most of my products, these boxes were cut from patterns taken from original items when I served as a museum director under the auspices of the US Army Center of Military History. Every item is hand cut, hand dyed and hand stitched as were the originals in a one man, veteran owned and operated shop, so no foreign stuff here. If you are looking for machine stitched, cheap, imported copies, keep looking, such is not here! CAP POUCHES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE to complete the set. Since this is not my day job, my prices are not as steep as the "Big Boys," either! Check my feedback, check the prices of hand made accoutrement then bid with confidence. THIS AIN'T NO MUSEUM, THIS STUFF IS FOR SALE!
