ca.1911 20" Kestner JDK 211 German SAMMY Character Baby Doll

Description: Rare Unique Size, Absolutely Beautiful! AUTHENTIC Antique Circa 1912 J.D.K. KESTNER German Character Baby Doll, Mold #211, known to colectors as "SAMMY", 20" Tall. Socket Head mold # 211, Head Circumference: 15 1/2", Marked GERMAN Boll-Jointed Wood & Composition Body.Features: Bisque socket head with unique Kestner Plaster like pate. Brown glass sleep-eyes with painted lashes. Feathered eyebrows. Open mouth with well outlined lips and two lower teeth. Red dots in nostrils. Rosy blush on the cheeks with soft dimples. Double chin. Well molded ears. Appears to be original antique wig with likely human hair (not sure though). Beautiful rosy complexion. Original bent limb composition body with the original paint finish, outlined in red fingers and toes and with movement at the neck, shoulders and hips. Incised German doll mark on the back of her bisque socket head is: Made in Germany M J.D.K. 16 211 Wears a definitely antique voile/batiste embroidered dress with an embroidered tag on the back: Hand Made. SIZE SMO. Measurements approximately: 20" tall without pate, and 15 1/2" - circumference of the head Condition Report: AS PICTURED. The bisque head has no chips, hairlines or restoration. The glass eyes are open and close as should be. The composition body has its appears to be original finish with some expected nor major wear, typical and to be expected. Not major yellowing at the left leg and right shoulder. Tiny scratch/dent to the finish on one thigh. No clipped off finish! The stringing is weak at hips, does not stand, but is keeping pose in sitting position. All of her fingers and toes are intact. The wig is in very worn condition with some tears at the very edge. The dress shows some age darkening, yellow stain at the front, few tiny holes and tiny tear at the neck trim. Please, note: different monitors may represent some difference in colors or shades.
