Description: A rare original c1900 antique Black Forest hand-carved wood i.e. treen wall-hanging bear measuring a maximum 9 inches (229 mm) in length and 9 inches (229 mm) in width.It has been skilfully carved with great attention to detail and has two small black glass eyes and painted mouth, typical of bears made during the period. The bear is articulated, making it a unique and dynamic addition to any display and the arms and legs are easily moved up and down by pulling on the cord to the reverse.It retains all its original parts, including the wall hanging hook on the back, and is in very good condition with just very minor loss to part edge of lower lip which does not detract at all.A lovely quality bear in original condition with good colour and patuina which has been well looked after over the years and would make a great addition to anyones collection, display etc.......
