Parker Posey is photographed by Troy House. Also in this issue is an amazing feature on Lynette Fromme, better known as Squeaky Fromme, one of Charlie Manson’s girls. Squeaky became famous for her attempted assassination of President Gerald Ford. It is written by Jess Bravin who had access to Squeaky’s diaries and letters. Next up, Michael McCarthy reveals the Rise and Fall and Rise of Chiat/Day which in the 80’s was the wildest and hottest ad agency in the world and made Los Angeles an advertising mecca. Next, Robert Hofler highlights the amazing talent of opera baritone Rodney Gilfrey. Photographed by Resig & Taylor and styled by Glynis Costin, we get an eight page fashion spread titled Swing Images. It reminds us that golf is a game all about style. Look like a player. This publication did a great job of covering the culture and fashion of California. Particularly Los Angeles. In 1998 Buzz magazine folded. It became obvious, even though it was doing a great job, that Los Angeles magazine, which is owned by Fairchild Publications, a unit of Walt Disney Co.’s ABC, was putting BUZZ out of business.
