It closes with two snaps designed like shotgun shell ends. The chain itself measures about 12 inches in addition to a snapping belt loop. It has 6 inside compartments in total. On top when opened is a front compartment large enough for a credit card or ID, then a zipper compartment for change or other items, then a compartment for folding money, another small compartment (about the size of a business card), then another compartment large enough for folding money. This item was handcrafted in the USA and is stamped on the inside "GENUINE LEATHER, MADE IN THE USA. As with all handcrafted leather items, each will have it's own unique characteristics in the finish of the leather.
