Description: Here we have a newly made - reproduction of the steering damper Guide Ring or Bushing that is specific to the R50S and R69S that employ a hydraulic damper. Old part number 20 54 218 - new number 31 42 2054218 - These are No Longer Available from BMW. The diagram shows this as part #68 - you can see where it goes. I had these made to match the original part perfectly. You might need to clean some of the paint out of the holes for perfect fitment. If yours is missing you really need this. Every one of the R50S and R69S bikes I have worked on have been missing this part. I had a small bag of original parts in my stock, and found that when I picked them up, they disintigrated to dust. This new part will restore like-new operation to your factory damper system - have a look at the pictures.
